It’s Dead

29 03 2008

Alright. After about 5 years, my laptop finally passed away. Won’t be updating/online till I get a new PC. I’m using my sister’s computer now but I don’t have a habit of logging in to my accounts on other computer unless necessary.

I will still be checking my e-mail accounts though. So until then, see ya!

Fan Chan

24 03 2008

Fan Chan (English: My Girl) is one of my favourite show ever. I can’t seem to be able to find it on VCD or DVD. Anybody has it? I want to watch it again! It’s my favourite movie of all time.

Special Haircut Failed II

20 03 2008

Alright, here’s a photo of my half botak haircut. It’s totally ugly and there’s nothing I can do about it – I can only wait for it to grow back.

Initially, I wanted to shave a smiley face behind but refrained from doing so because it will only make it worse. So I’ll just have this live with this for the next one month or so.

Special Haircut Failed

That was my last photo taken. I wanted to do a “special” haircut. But it failed, so I ended up being half botak.

Photo Editing

17 03 2008

It’s important to realise how important photo editing is.

This picture of my brother was taken with my 3.2megapixel Cybershot phone with no flash. Picture looks dark and ugly.

This is the same photo, after editing. Picture looks brighter and sharper. That’s the power of a computer.

Update: Added a PSP Section to my Pages

The Power of Politics

16 03 2008

I was reading a news article about 20 people getting arrested for staging a protest. The protest was obviously initiated by Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), an opposition political party.

I read two news reports of the protest. One by a local media and the other by an international media. There’s so much difference between them. I would not comment on that, it’s up to your own discretion.

Politics can be so funny at times. I got really curious and went to SDP’s website and saw this article. The placards they used are so funny. There are a lot more articles on their main page as well. All of them are so… that’s up to your own discretion too.

You can view more photos and find out more about the protest from this blog, which I strongly believe is written by an SDP supporter too.

The Best Hockey Fight Ever

14 03 2008

Possibly the most amazing sports fight in history.

Blogosphere

12 03 2008

This is my sister, Lina Ang. She has been secretly reading my blog all these while. What’s wrong with that? There’s nothing wrong with her reading my blog. But it’s wrong when she starts copying my blog.

Hello there if you’re reading this. You better start having your own originality.

Update: Seems like she has changed it!

I managed to find a few of my cousins blog too. There’s this cousin of mine, Jaslyn. I can’t believe her blog is so emotional. But not bad, she has quite a good command of English.

Hello there if you’re reading this. It’s time to cheer up and look at the brighter side.

Fishing At Sembawang Park

11 03 2008

Aunty Judith invited Caleb, Faith and me to her family outing at Sembawang Park. They were planning to camp overnight there. It’s always nice to see parents bringing their kids out for some fun during the holidays.

It was low tide when we went reached there at about 6pm. Some of them went down to the beach to fish but from the looks of it, there won’t be any. So I decided to go back to the tent and have some food instead.

As night fell, they decided to fish with their net instead of the rod and the results was so much better. Within minutes, they caught a crab and a baby squid.

BBQ-ed for awhile and chat around. Nice feeling, but the rooftop would be better. Aunty Judith gave us money to take cab home after that because it’s late – what a nice lady she is.

That’s me and Faith – together with Aunty Judith’s daughter and maid. Her daughter is so adorable. Look like some ang moh.

My First Program

5 03 2008

Regarding my previous post, the reason I named my PSP Rachel it’s because I find the name nice. Not because of any girls. It’s a stupid thing to do.

Started on my Visual Basic project. Took me a lot of hours to work on the code and it’s not even half finished. Here’s a snippet of my code.

It’s super tiring and works your brain a lot. Now I know why people need days to code even a simple program. I’m doing a Unit Converter and a Tic-Tac-Toe game. I can sense that the game is going to be a challenge for me – but people learn better through the hard way isn’t it?

Here’s my unfinished product. I’m going to spend my weekends working on it and my Tic-Tac-Toe. It’s my school work after all. No pain, no gain.

Buying A PSP?

4 03 2008

I’m in two minds now. That is if I should buy a Playstation Portable (PSP) or not. I had one somewhere in July last year and I sold it two months later because I got bored of it. Now, I’m sitting here craving for something I didn’t wanted before.

I’m giving myself a few days to seriously consider. To be fair to myself, I have to realise that a whole chunk of me is saying “Yes!” while that tiny weeny bit is afraid that the same thing might happen again.

That’s my previous PSP, named Rachel. I didn’t like her because she was fat and black. Now they’ve made a slimmer version of Rachel. Okay, I know that was not related but I was getting too excited.

Should I buy?

Skydiving Without Parachute

3 03 2008

On Sept. 26, 2007, Travis Pastrana jumped out of an airplane over Arecibo, Puerto Rico, without a parachute. In a carefully choreographed stunt, he met up in midair with another jumper, then lashed himself into a harness in time to make a safe tandem landing.
