Movie Review: Jumper

17 02 2008

Watched a midnight show on Friday – Jumper. It’s about this guy who can teleport wherever he want and a group of people trying to kill him. I’m not going to talk more about it because I don’t feel like it. Let’s just go straight to the point.

Movie Review: Alvin and the Chipmunks

15 12 2007

Watched it with Kairos at Golden Village Yishun today. Guess what, there was only 13 people (including the 5 of us) watching it. Yishun is a totally classic place to live in.

One word to describe the show, cute. Especially the fat and tiny Theodore. The plot was somewhat simple but seeing the 3 Chipmunks come to life is already worth the ticket price.

I Love Instant Noodles

13 11 2007

Recently, I’m very into those dry-type instant noodles. It tastes so much better than those soup ones. I decided to do a search for the best dry instant noodles in the world. I’ve already tasted quite a few brands so I decided to try Koka – the one without MSG.

The good side is that it is a lot healthier than other brands but it takes away the great taste of the noodles. The moment I tasted it, I knew that it wasn’t up to expectations despite the nice packaging.

But at least, it’s healthier.

DVD Review: 300

8 11 2007

It’s been awhile since I last watched DVD. I rented 300 yesterday and I’ve decided to do a review on it.

My friends who watched it said it was a brilliant show. After watching it, I think otherwise. It’s a true story about how Sparta (a country that has only the strongest men) goes to war with Persians. Sparta only sent 300 soldiers, fighting against 10,000.

And the whole show was just showing the soldiers killing each other. I rather recommend watching Happy Tree Friends.

Food Review: Western Dinner

31 10 2007

Dinner with Brandon & Isaiah. Went to some lousy coffeeshop located in Ang Mo Kio for some western food. The name of the stall? Botak Jones.

(Photo was shamelessly stolen from a useless food review site)

Isaiah told me this order this dish called Cajun Chicken which is just some normal chicken breast meat. I think KFC tastes nicer. Doing a search on the dictionary, Cajun refers to a group of people that were exiled from a country. I think they’re trying to say the chickens they use are unwanted ones.

(Photo was also shamelessly stolen from another useless food review site)

This is the Cajun Chicken. It looks good but it tastes normal. No wonder there out so many sayings like don’t judge a book by it’s cover and looks can be deceiving. I shall add another one to it: Never trust someone by the name of Isaiah.

The only good thing about this stall is that you can ask for a bigger portion of fries for your set meal. I didn’t know how big does the bigger means until I saw it. It came with one more plate – filled with fries. Simply amazing.

There’s a bad side to it too. I don’t know why would they want to add spices onto those fries. It’s something like curry powder and it totally spoils the taste of the fries. I don’t understand why people are liking it. Do they really find it nice or do they say it’s nice because food reviews say so?
