We’re Just Tired

29 02 2008

Today, reached school an hour late only to find out my teacher didn’t come today. Slacked for the next two hours – surfing the net and chatting around. Yeah, that’s ITE life. When you have work, it can make you go crazy. When you have free time, you’ll cry because there’s too much of free time.

Next lesson was Engineering – quite a boring topic. My teacher is quite pissed with my class recently because he thinks that my class isn’t interested to study. A picture paints a thousand words, so here you go.

This guy sitting on my right is sleeping.

The guy on my left is doing the same thing.

Same goes for the two in front of me. So basically, I’m literally surrounded by sleeping people during the lesson since the row behind me is empty.

Update: Made some changes to the “About Me” page.

A Short Animation By One Man

This short animation is quite cool. What even cooler is that it’s created by just one guy.

Don’t Drink… & Talk!

24 02 2008

The traffic police always remind citizens not to drink and drive. This photo shows that you shouldn’t even talk!

Do Charity By Playing Game

23 02 2008

The game is simple. All you have to do it to click on the answer that best describes the given word. If you get it correct, they will donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. Apparently, they gets the rice from sponsors who advertises on their site.

This site doesn’t seem to be phony. I’ve already donated 400 grains of rice today. Start donating over at FreeRice!

Feeling Sick

21 02 2008

I’ve been feeling sick for the past one week. Flu, cough and many more – and I don’t have a habit for seeing the doctor for such common illness. What’s worse is that I have to start working on a new project for school. Programming is so difficult and I’ve to use Mathematics too!

Started playing Football Manager 2008 to waste my life away. I’ve been playing this series from the good old days of my secondary school days and I’m playing it ever since.

Movie Review: Jumper

17 02 2008

Watched a midnight show on Friday – Jumper. It’s about this guy who can teleport wherever he want and a group of people trying to kill him. I’m not going to talk more about it because I don’t feel like it. Let’s just go straight to the point.

Rating: 2.5/5

Makes You Hungry

Chinese New Year 2008

8 02 2008

Chinese New Year is here again! As usual, I don’t like the red packets – but I like the contents of it. The red packet is there to add suspense before you open it. You will never know how much money is there inside! It’s like opening presents, but better!

This is my favourite snack for the festive occasion. How could you celebrate without this? I can still remember the maids finishing almost all of it last year. It’s my turn to finish it this year! My relatives are all getting richer and richer, driving expensive cars. There was even a Jaguar! I only sat it once last year – nothing special at all.

But here’s something special. This is the lift of the condo where my aunty is staying. Noticed anything, no? Please scroll down!

Hey! How come there are shoes outside the lift? Which inconsiderate people are doing that? It’s blocking the entrance of the lift and nobody cares? Where’s the security guard? What is happening to Singaporeans nowadays?

Arrgh, no! The lift leads directly into my aunty’s house! Mama, what has the world came to? The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. Oh yeah anyway, Happy Chinese New Year!

Reunion Dinner 2008

6 02 2008

Just came back from dinner at my grandparent’s house. As usual, the dishes were so good that I decided to use a plate rather than a bowl because I can store more stuffs. In the end, it was so much that the dishes covered up all my rice and it looks like a mountain.

Had a chat with my aunties about stuffs from Singapore’s education to cheapest place to buy clothes. My cousins are all starting to grow up too. I can remember the days when I used to carry a few of them. Now, I think it’s their turn to carry me!

The Longer Way

6 02 2008

What school are you in?

I feel proud when I say I’m studying in ITE. A lot of people have a negative mindset about ITE because they think it’s a place where failures go. I passed my ‘N’ Levels but I still chose to go there because I prefer their kind of education.

ITE is not a place where failures go. It is a place providing education for people who didn’t do well. It’s a place giving people a second opportunity to go into polytechnics. I chose to take the longer way.

It’s because I chose the longer way, I realised the importance of studying. It’s because I left school for a year, I realised how wonderful school is. Because of this longer way, I’m enjoying every moment in school.

Ask those people studying in poly. What is their motivation to study? It’s all for a certificate that can provide a better future. Ask me and I’ll say my motivation would be for God and I have this desire/passion to be in school. Why? Because I took the longer way.

The normal way doesn’t have to be the best way. Friends, don’t feel down if you’re not in the road where many wants to take. Make use of the road you’re taking now and gain something out of it!

A Seat On The Train

5 02 2008

Saw this letter on Today newspaper. It’s written by 62 years old elderly requesting the younger ones to give up their seats to people in need. The writer also wrote about her experience whereby a young woman refused the give up her seat even when asked!

Of course, the write may sound very pitiful but I don’t like her way of writing that letter. It sounds as if they deserve all the rights to have seats. Come on, young people have their own difficulties too. Young people can feel tired too – not just the elderly. Don’t draw a line between the young and old in this manner.

And I’m also not implying that the elderly is wrong in writing that letter. It’s just my own two cents. I’m sure there will be people replying to her letter in the days to come. Can’t wait to see how others think.

The Roof Is On Fire

4 02 2008

Recently, we’ve been going up to the rooftop at Rajiv’s block. I like the place because it never fails to give me the thrill and excitement. Besides that, it’s super windy up there! Now, we’re treating it as if it’s our second home.

Brought our own mat up there today. We’re planning to have a BBQ up there in the future. I don’t think going up to the rooftop is against the law anyway. The only thing about it is that we might fall down 17 storeys high and break a bone die if we’re not careful. But the thing is, we’re very careful when we are up there!

Played cards today up there. It feels so good to take a break from the world and enjoy ourselves up there with nobody disturbing us. Maybe we should invite our friends and families up there too and enjoy. Alright, time to hit the bed – school’s tomorrow!
